Part of the Indianapolis Chapter’s
mission is to promote the organ in its historic and evolving roles by
providing a forum for the understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of
the organ. The Artist Recital Series is our chapter’s forum in pursuing
this part of the mission. Our chapter’s Program Committee plans our
Artist Recital Series, selecting each artist with the intention of
providing Guild members and the community with enriching music from
different eras and styles, with the hopes of broadening the cultural and
music experience in Indianapolis and Central Indiana. Many times our
chapter also invites our visiting artists to conduct a master class for
our chapter members. In these master classes our members learn playing
techniques for organ performance that they may employ in their church
or synagogue services.
Contributions are a vital funding source for the Artist Recital Series.
In the past we have relied only on the contributions from our members to
fund the artist performance fees, and that has served the chapter well.
With increased artist fees over the years these concerts are becoming
more difficult to fund through chapter members' donations alone.
Therefore, the chapter has
made the decision to allow the larger community to make contributions just
as our chapter members do.
When you make contributions at the $25 level and above, you will receive
a number of tickets based on your giving level, as listed below. You may use these Contributor Tickets at either concert of
the Artist Recital Series in the season for which your contribution was made.
Contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by
the IRS, and donors will have their names listed in the program for
each concert.
Donors to the Indianapolis AGO Artist Recital Series receive
the following allotment of tickets based on the level of
their contribution, as follows:
The annual Indianapolis Pipe Organ Festival is not included in the
Artist Recital Series because the performers are A.G.O. members who
donate their time and no performance fees are incurred.
